The Game EndsI wait in anticipation and fear in my little corner. He's close. Very close. I stay quiet, and hold my breath.I hear a scratching next to me, and almost jump out from my hiding place. I turn around, and find a small panel that seems out of place in the wall. I hear the scratching again, seemingly coming from behind that panel. I give it an experimental push, and it slowly creaks open. Squinting in the darkness, I tentatively put my hand in and feel around.I nearly jump out of my skin when my hand brushes something warm. Something that feels suspiciously like an arm. Said arm also gasps, and retracts."Who's there?" I whisper, hoping against hope that it's who I think it is.I hear a sniffle. "I-is that you Z?"I feel my breath come whooshing out in relief. It IS Blue. I crawl into the small space, and hug him tightly, feeling tears leak out of my eyes."You're ok," I gasp, "Thank God, you're ok. How did you get in here?"He hugs me back just as tightly, shivering. "I-I don't know. Th
The Game in the DarknessI'm back to where I was a minute ago. Back to that eerie painting. I feel panic rising slowly inside me, and I look around, unsure of where to go. He could be ANYWHERE. I finally decide to go down the darker hallway, and hide. I run down the corridor, trying to keep my gasping breathing quiet. There must me someway to get out of here. Somehow. I hear his footsteps again. He's running now, I can tell. He's getting bored. I know that simply hiding will do no good. Though it scares me, I prepare myself for what I must do.I must confront him. If I can get him out of the way for a minute, I can find Blue, and we can get out of here. I stand in the hallway, making no attempt to hide. I hear his footsteps come to a halt a few feet in front of me. He chuckles darkly, and I shiver."Given up already, have you?" He asks teasingly.I set my jaw and retort, "Far from it, Lurch. The game's only just started."He laughs. "Has it now? Well, is shall end veeery soon then."I can see him now, and that
The Chase in the ShadowsI stumble through the darkness, trying to get away from him. I can't let him catch me, or Blue either. I clutch his hand tightly and we run together through the dark corridors. Even though he's blind, he keeps up pretty well.I take a sharp turn, and go down a big flight of stairs. I almost trip, and so does Blue, but I catch him and we keep running. He is still chasing us. I can hear his heavy footsteps, hear his breathing. When you're afraid, all your senses heighten. You see things, hear things, sense things you normally wouldn't.I snap out of my horrific reverie, and narrowly miss running into a giant painting propped against a wall. I squint at it through the darkness to see it's a portrait of a young girl, covered in blood.I shudder, and keep running, dragging Blue along. He whimpers, but otherwise stays silent.I run into another hallway, only to find it's a dead end. I curse, and we run back out. Damn it all, we barely know this mansion, and have no clue as to where we're goi
